Governor Advocates AI-Era Journalism Education Revamp

Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra emphasized the need for journalism education to adapt to the AI era. Addressing the convocation at Haridev Joshi Journalism and Mass Communication University, he advocated for courses aligned with the new education policy. Mishra also awarded degrees and inaugurated a new university building.

In a significant call for educational reform, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra emphasized the necessity for universities to instill healthy values among aspiring journalists during the AI era. Addressing the second convocation at Haridev Joshi Journalism and Mass Communication University, Mishra asserted that students must be trained to tackle deep fakes and misleading news, which he described as critical for upholding a free and vibrant press, the cornerstone of democracy.

Mishra highlighted the urgency for journalism education to align with the new education policy, aiming to develop a generation of journalists who are sensitive, alert, and responsible citizens. He acknowledged the challenging nature of modern journalism, marked by intense competition to break news first.

During the event, the governor also inaugurated the newly constructed main building of the university. Degrees were conferred upon 94 students, with gold medals awarded to six outstanding achievers at the ceremony.
