Tamil Nadu Launches Online Counselling for Special Reserved Categories in Engineering Admissions 2024

Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy announced that 664 applications have been received for 111 seats reserved for physically challenged, ex-servicemen, and sports categories. The online counselling process for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2024, aimed at candidates under the 7.5% special reservation category, commenced on Monday.
State Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy inaugurated the virtual counselling session, designed to facilitate admissions to B.E. and B.Tech courses through the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Guindy. A total of 664 applications were received to fill 111 seats reserved for physically challenged individuals, ex-servicemen, and sports categories.
'All those who could not be accommodated can apply for counselling in the general and other categories,' Ponmudy informed reporters.
The session will continue until September 11 and will initially focus on state government school students seeking admission under the 7.5% quota.
The counselling process comprises several rounds, including choice filling, allotment, confirmation of allotment, and reporting to the colleges for fee payment, with candidates participating based on their ranks.
