Chhattisgarh Gov Introduces Interest-Free Education Loans for Economically Weaker Students

The Chhattisgarh government has announced an initiative to provide interest-free loans to students from economically weaker families in Naxal-affected districts who wish to pursue higher education in technical and vocational fields, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
This initiative, named the 'Chief Minister Higher Education Loan Interest Grant Scheme,' extends to students from non-Naxal-affected districts at a reduced interest rate of 1 per cent. The scheme aims to empower students in need by offering financial support for their educational aspirations.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed officials to maximize the reach of this scheme through targeted drives. The Technical Education Department will administer the program, which covers 35 courses and offers up to Rs 4 lakh per student. The scheme is available to native Chhattisgarh students with an annual family income of up to Rs 2 lakh, attending recognized institutions.
