Revitalizing MAMC: A New Dawn for Student Accommodation

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken decisive action to address alarming infrastructure issues at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC). On Monday, she ordered urgent renovations of hostels, slamming previous administrations for the dilapidated state of facilities following a fruitful meeting with concerned students.

The dialogue at Delhi Secretariat revealed pressing issues like hostel disrepair, inadequate lighting, insufficient security, and illegal encroachments. Gupta called for immediate solutions, instructing officials from the Health Department, Public Works Department (PWD), and college administration to implement concrete measures for improvement.

Last week's review meeting, led by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, highlighted acute accommodation shortages and infrastructural lapses across several institutions. Gupta's directive includes installing LED lights, upgrading security systems, and accelerating hostel expansion plans, emphasizing the need to cater adequately to MAMC's student community.
