Meghalaya's Educational Leap: Launch of First Eklavya Model Residential School

In a significant move for tribal education in Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has inaugurated the first Eklavya Model Residential School in Pahamsyiem, Ri-Bhoi district. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, aiming to bolster education infrastructure in the region.

Launching the academic session, Sangma emphasized the broader impact of education beyond textbooks and exams. "It's about shaping the future and instilling societal values," he stated, urging students to seize the opportunity afforded to them through rigorous selection. He also unveiled plans for a synthetic athletic track to advance local sports facilities.

Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui underscored the government's steadfast commitment to enhancing educational priorities. Meanwhile, Sangma addressed logistical needs by flagging off vehicles to boost rural transport. He highlighted Meghalaya's rapid economic growth, advocating for inclusivity across the state's diverse communities and regions.
