According to IGMC, the incident involved two second-year students who invited their juniors to a hostel room without proper authorization, violating campus regulations.

As a consequence, the disciplinary committee suspended the seniors and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each, concluding that the incident constituted ragging.
