A significant protest unfolded in Kolkata as around 500 members of the 'Parsha Sikshak Mancha', a coalition of para-teacher organizations, demanded higher wages.
Their march to the West Bengal state Assembly was interrupted by police enforcement at Subodh Mallick Square, causing a disruption in local traffic.
Indian Secular Front leader, Naushad Siddique, joined the protesters to show support, questioning the administration's restraint on allowing a representative delegation to present their demands directly to the Assembly.
