The Allahabad High Court has taken serious note of allegations against the Lucknow district administration concerning La Martiniere College land. The court has summoned the district magistrate to address claims of unauthorized use of the land for a government project without the college's consent.
A division bench, comprising Justice Alok Mathur and Justice Amitabh Kumar Rai, asked the district magistrate to explain the delay in measuring the disputed land. The hearing follows a petition by the college, asserting its ownership and refusal for the land to be used for road and flyover construction.
Despite earlier directives to measure the land, compliance was not met, prompting the court to consider potential contempt proceedings. At the heart of this legal battle is the legacy of La Martiniere College, a historic institution established in 1845, renowned for its educational prominence.
