Leader of Opposition in the Jharkhand assembly, Babulal Marandi, on Monday alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET)-2024 examinations, and demanded the removal of the JPSC chairman. Marandi made the demand a day after the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) cancelled the JET-2024 examinations for two subjects at two centres, where tests held on Sunday were disrupted due to a shortage of question papers and readability issues. ''The condition of competitive examinations in the state is continuously deteriorating. Serious flaws in the JET examination conducted by the JPSC have raised questions over the credibility of the entire process,'' the senior BJP leader told reporters. ''I urge Chief Minister Hemant Soren to remove the commission's incompetent and inept chairman so that the future of candidates can be secured,'' he said. According to officials, the examinations were cancelled at Sardar Patel Public School in Bokaro district and ASTVS District CM School of Excellence in Ranchi. The affected subjects were Education and Oriya. At the Bokaro centre, some candidates created a ruckus after question papers for the Oriya subject fell short. Later, the JPSC said in a statement that the examinations for the two subjects at the two centres had been cancelled due to a shortage of question papers and readability issues. It said fresh dates for the rescheduled examinations would be announced separately.
