A young life was cut short in Ranchi when 23-year-old Saket Kumar, an MTech student at the Central University of Jharkhand, died by suicide on Monday. His body was discovered hanging in his rented residence in Tilta Hanuman Nagar, police confirmed.

The authorities recovered a suicide note from Kumar's room, indicating the possibility of a love affair being a factor in his tragic decision. The family of the deceased has been informed, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination at a state-run hospital.

The university's spokesperson described Kumar as academically bright, acknowledging that he had been battling depression despite receiving counseling support. The incident highlights the urgent need for mental health awareness and support among students.
