The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has turned its attention to a public servant associated with the National Testing Agency (NTA) in connection to the NEET-UG paper leak scandal. The scandal has thrown the examination process into turmoil, resulting in multiple arrests, including that of Manisha Sanjay Waghmare and chemistry lecturer P V Kulkarni.

The allegations reveal a conspiracy where question papers and answers were accessed prematurely and distributed among select students in exchange for monetary compensation. Arrested biology lecturer Manisha Mandhare allegedly played a role in orchestrating the distribution of exam materials for financial gain.

This breach of confidentiality prompted the CBI to register an FIR and investigate, leading to the cancellation of the NEET-UG held on May 3. The NTA received information about the malpractice days after the exam, subsequently escalating it to central authorities for thorough investigation.
