The Ministry of Education has taken steps to alleviate concerns regarding On-Screen Marking (OSM) in CBSE class 12 exams by significantly reducing the charges for revaluation and answer sheet verification to Rs 100 each. This decision is aimed at easing students' anxiety over their exam scores.

Addressing a press conference, School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar assured that OSM is a secure and internationally adopted system for transparent evaluation. Despite its introduction, some scanned answer sheets remained illegible due to light ink, prompting manual reviews.

Over 13,000 problematic answer sheets were manually checked to ensure accurate results. In response to worries about OSM affecting results, the CBSE has also reduced fees for students wishing to view or verify their answer sheets, with provisions for fee refunds if marks are increased upon revaluation.
