Fast & Furious 10 latest updates, will Fast X focus on more personal level?

It is true that the action movie, Fast & Furious 9 titled F9: The Fast Saga accumulated average rating of 5.7/10 on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the average positive review accumulated worldwide, the franchise enthusiasts are still waiting passionately to get a higher quality of response from Fast X (Fast & Furious 10).

Justin Lin is confirmed to return as the showrunner of the upcoming movie Fast & Furious 10. The principal photography for Fast X began in April 2022. Except for Dwayne Johnson, almost all the Fast and Furious family members are returning in the tenth movie for another round of heart-stopping action. The stars include Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Tej Parker, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, and Sung Kang as Han Lue.

We will also see some newbies joining Fast and Furious 10. Aquaman star, Jason Momoa joins as a villain in Fast X. His character is described as "sadistic", "flamboyant", and "like a peacock." Moreover, The Suicide Squads’ Daniela Melchior and Reacher’s Alan Ritchson have been cast in undisclosed roles. Puerto Rican actress Rita Moreno of West Side Story has been cast as the grandmother of Dom, Jakob, and Mia in Fast X.

Fast X already suffered a delay in production due to the pandemic. However, the filming has begun. On June 5, 2022, Tyrese Gibson announced Fast X would see the franchise "going back to its roots", with reports indicating this to be a return to street racing elements of previous entries and expressed a desire for the franchise to film in South Africa, stating, "me and Luda always had this idea [that] it’s time for us to head to South Africa. It needs real estate in this franchise [because] it [has] a beautiful skyline with ocean. The Fast and Furious package."

The larger updates on Fast X's plot are still kept under wraps, obviously to avoid much speculations and rumors. However, Tyrese Gibson revealed in a recent interview that Fast & Furious 10 would feature more details about Dom's past. The imminent movie is going to be the first of a two-part finale that will finale put the franchise to bed for good.

Earlier in April 2021 at the F9 trailer press conference, Vin Diesel already explained the reason for the splitting of the movie into two parts.

He stated, “As you know, we get to travel to all these wonderful places. And they’re part of the reason why Fast [and Furious] 10 has to be broken into two different movies — it’s because there’s so much ground to cover. And there are so many places in so many locations in the world that we have to visit.”

Speaking with Comic Book in August 2022, Nathalie Emmanuel said "the stakes are higher on a more personal level in this [film]", indicating a more grounded approach compared to previous installments.

In the case of Fast & Furious spinoff, Charlize Theron confirms to Variety that Vin Diesel told him he is working on a spinoff movie that will be centered on Theron’s character, Cipher.
