Fans of the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, can finally look forward to seeing the show's final season. David Harbour, who plays Detective Jim Hopper on the series, recently announced at the Middle East Film & Comic Con in Abu Dhabi that the show will begin filming season 5 this June.
Harbour revealed that season 4 required a lot of training for his character, who spent most of the season in a Russian prison. But now that Hopper is back to America, viewers can expect to see Hopper's story taking the center stage in Season 5. Here's what Harbour revealed about Stranger Things Season 5, which is going to be the final season of the show:
"We're walking into season five. I've got a couple more months to train. We start shooting that in June, though, and that will be the final season. I did a lot of training for season four. He [Hopper] was in a very specific position, that Russian prison. It was about making him a different guy and sort of shedding a layer of himself physically, mentally, and emotionally. But now he's back in town, he's back in America where they have cheeseburgers, so he will be well-fed."
While we don’t know much about the plot for Stranger Things Season 5, it seems the show's final season will be an emotional and thrilling ride for viewers, especially as they witness the conclusion of Hopper's story.
At the end of Stranger Things Season 3, Hopper's fate was left uncertain after he seemingly sacrificed himself in the battle against the Mind Flayer. However, the post-credits scene hinted that he may have survived and was being held captive in Russia.
In Stranger Things Season 4, the show confirmed that Hopper was indeed alive and imprisoned in a Russian labor camp. However, the latest teaser for season 5 shows Hopper back in the United States, suggesting that he has escaped and returned home.
Stranger Things Season 5 is set to explore Hopper's story in greater depth, as he adjusts to life back in the United States and confronts the challenges of his traumatic experiences in Russia. This will provide fans with a unique perspective on one of the show's most beloved characters, and promises to be a thrilling ride.
Stranger Things premiered on Netflix in July 2016 and has since become one of the streaming service's most recognizable programs. The show has amassed a huge fan base, thanks to its intriguing storyline, lovable characters, and its themes of friendship, adventure and horror.
As the final season approaches, fans will undoubtedly feel bittersweet about saying goodbye to the show and its beloved characters. However, with Hopper's story finally taking center stage after his return to America, season 5 promises to be a satisfying and unforgettable conclusion to the hit series.
