Southeast Asian destinations are rapidly gaining favor among Indian travelers seeking short getaways, a recent OYO survey revealed Monday. While countries like Indonesia and Malaysia top the list for short vacations, long-haul destinations such as the United States and Europe continue to attract Indian tourists for extended stays.

In the OYO Global Summer Vacations Travelopedia 2024, Southeast Asia emerged as the top short-stay choice for Indians, primarily due to relaxed visa policies and improved air connectivity. Bali, popular among 38 percent of the respondents, leads the list, followed by Pattaya, Bangkok, and Dubai.

The survey highlights the growing trend of digital nomadism, with remote work enabling Indian travelers to seamlessly blend work and leisure. Notably, Dubai has introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa, enhancing accessibility between India and the Gulf region. OYO's ongoing program to boost premium properties in these destinations further enhances the travel experience for Indian tourists.
