Amid tight security following recent terrorist attacks, hundreds of devotees, including many Kashmiri Pandits, gathered to celebrate the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani in Jammu and Kashmir.
The fair, dedicated to Rangya Devi in Ganderbal's Tulmulla, was marked by an overwhelming sense of faith prevailing over fear.
Political figures such as Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah participated, echoing the need for unity and the return of displaced Pandits to their homeland.
Despite the fear stirred by attacks, the spirit of the pilgrims remained unbroken as over 30,000 devotees paid respects at the shrine.
Enhanced security measures were in place to safeguard the attendees, including a multi-layered security ring around the temple complex and along travel routes.
