In a landmark decision, the Gujarat High Court has lifted the interim stay on the release of 'Maharaj', the much-anticipated debut feature of Junaid, son of Bollywood star Aamir Khan. Yash Raj Films (YRF), the movie's producer, expressed their gratitude to the judiciary for this favorable verdict.

The court made this decision after determining that the film did not target the Vaishnav Pushtimarg sect, contrary to the claims made in a petition by certain members who alleged that the film hurt their religious sentiments. The court observed nothing objectionable in the film and permitted its release on Netflix.

'Maharaj', a period drama set in pre-independent India, focuses on the Maharaj Libel Case of 1862 and pays tribute to one of India's greatest social reformers, Karsandas Mulji. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra under YRF Entertainment, the film also includes performances by Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, and Sharvari. The production house emphasized their long-standing commitment to honoring India's culture and legacy.
