Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday highlighted the significance of Muharram, describing it as a symbol of the struggle against oppression and injustice.
He stated that the holy day is also an occasion for fasting, gratitude, spiritual renewal, remembrance, and reaffirmation of faith. 'A symbol of struggle against oppression and injustice, the holy day inspires deep reflection and mourning,' Khandu posted on X.
Marking the solemn occasion, the chief minister paid tribute to the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, in the Battle of Karbala.
