C P Radhakrishnan, the newly-appointed Governor of Maharashtra, visited the Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai on Thursday to pay floral tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. During his visit, Trisharan Buddha Vandana was recited, and Radhakrishnan took darshan of Dr Ambedkar's ashes interred at the site.
Radhakrishnan, who assumed office as the 21st governor of Maharashtra on Wednesday, previously served as the Governor of Jharkhand for nearly one-and-a-half years. His visit to Chaitya Bhoomi, located in Dadar, central Mumbai, marks his first public appearance after taking charge.
Chaitya Bhoomi is a revered site, being the cremation place of Dr Ambedkar. The governor's tribute underscores his commitment to upholding the values and legacy of Dr Ambedkar, which continue to shape modern India.
