Actor Taapsee Pannu had a witty response to her husband Mathias Boe's announcement of retiring from badminton coaching following Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy's exit from the Paris Olympics. Boe, who coached the pair to a bronze at the 2022 world championships, cited stress and age as reasons for his decision.
Actor Taapsee Pannu offered a quick-witted response to her husband and badminton star Mathias Boe's announcement on social media that he is retiring from coaching. This decision followed the exit of Indian badminton pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy from the Paris Olympics.
In his Instagram post, Boe, a London Olympics silver medalist who coached Chirag and Satwik ahead of the Tokyo Olympics, cited stress and age as reasons for stepping down. 'For me, my coaching days end here. I'm not going to continue in India or anywhere else, at least for now,' wrote the 44-year-old.
Pannu, who married Boe in March, commented on his post humorously, suggesting that his new role as a married man required him to step back and focus on domestic duties. Despite the disappointment of Chirag and Satwik's quarterfinal loss, Boe consoled them and expressed confidence in their future successes.
