Haryana and J&K Gear Up for Assembly Polls: Highlight on Centenarians and Young Voters

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced on Friday that Haryana will have 10,321 centenarians and 2.55 lakh voters aged 85 years and above casting their ballots in the upcoming assembly polls set for October 1.
The Election Commission is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters are facilitated to participate in the democratic process. Kumar highlighted Haryana’s healthy demographic as he revealed the election schedule for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
The draft electoral rolls published indicate a robust young voter population and significant numbers of elderly voters. The polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in three phases starting September 18, marking the first such elections since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Results will be declared on October 4.
