Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan on Monday engaged in comprehensive talks with Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Aleksandr Moiseev, focusing on strengthening maritime cooperation between the two countries.

Admiral Moiseev is visiting India from August 19 to 22. The dialogues aimed at deepening strategic cooperation and boosting maritime security were acknowledged by the Integrated Defence Staff HQ.

Further discussions were held with Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi to establish collaborative mechanisms for heightened maritime security cooperation. The defence ministry emphasized the historic ties and the ongoing effort to explore new avenues for naval collaboration.
