Leslye Headland's science fiction TV series 'The Acolyte' will not be renewed for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Despite receiving positive reviews from critics, the 'Star Wars' series did not resonate well with audiences, leading Lucasfilm to make the difficult decision to cancel it.

'Honestly, I feel sad that people would think that if something were gay, that that would be bad,' Headland commented. 'It makes me feel sad that a bunch of people on the internet would somehow dismantle what I consider to be the most important piece of art that I've ever made,' she added.

The show followed a respected Jedi Master investigating a shocking crime spree, only to face a dangerous warrior from his past. Featuring actors like Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae, 'The Acolyte' concluded with several intriguing plot lines and the hint of a possible return of Yoda. However, reports indicate that viewership figures were not sufficient to warrant a second season.
