Actor Kay Kay Menon is back with a new series titled 'Murshid', slated to premiere on August 30. Menon will headline the show, which sees him portray Retired Don Murshid Pathan, reluctantly drawn back into the criminal underworld to safeguard his family.
The trailer, released today, previews an intense storyline where Murshid's son gets entangled in a dangerous plot orchestrated by his former rival Farid, played by Zakir Hussain. Murshid's efforts to protect his family clash with the ambitions of politician Jayendra (Rajesh Shringarpure) and Inspector Kumar Pratap Rana (Tanuj Virwani), who is also Murshid's adopted son.
Speaking about his role, Menon stated, "Playing Murshid Pathan in this intense gangster thriller was truly exciting. I've always been drawn to complex characters, and Murshid is exactly that." Hussain added, "Farid is a powder keg of ambition and aggression. This is a thrilling portrayal of a modern-day don." Virwani noted, "Kumar Pratap Rana is caught in an emotional whirlwind, torn between his duty and love for Murshid, his adoptive father."
