Thousands of devotees on Monday thronged Govind Devji temple and Shri Radha Gopinathji temple and paid obeisance amid tight security arrangements on the occasion of Janmashtami.

From early morning, devotees made a beeline for 'mangla darshan' at the Govind Devji Temple at 4:30 am. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph said the influx of devotees is expected to increase as the day progresses. Consequently, ample security measures have been implemented for their safety. Significant crowding was also observed at other temples, including Shri Radha Gopinath Ji Temple.

Joseph stated that facial recognition CCTV cameras have been installed at Govind Devji temple, ISKCON temple, and Akshaya Patra temple to identify pickpockets, vehicle thieves, and other miscreants. Control rooms have been set up at each temple for surveillance, and plain-clothes policemen have been deployed.

"Photos and other details of criminals in the state and interstate are already fed into the database. Whenever these criminals come within the CCTV range, an alert will pop up, and security personnel on duty will apprehend them immediately,'' the officer said. Temples in Jaipur and across the state have been adorned with flowers and lights for Janmashtami celebrations.
