Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, currently implicated in the Renukaswamy murder case, was moved from Parappana Agrahara Central prison to Ballari jail amid heightened security on Thursday.
The transfer followed approval from the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court after an incriminating photo of Darshan at Bengaluru jail went viral, spurring public outcry.
Darshan was escorted via the Andhra Pradesh route for security reasons, avoiding large crowds of fans. His extended judicial custody has raised concerns about alleged preferential treatment, leading to the suspension of nine prison officials and three FIRs being filed.
