Maserati, the renowned Italian luxury carmaker, has high hopes for the Indian market, eyeing it as a potential top ten global market in the midterm, driven largely by the country's entrepreneurial community, stated Philippe Claverol, Head of Overseas Markets.
On Friday, the company introduced its GranTurismo model in India, starting at a price of Rs 2.72 crore. Maserati is also contemplating the feasibility of bringing its electric vehicle lineup to Indian shores to further penetrate the market.
While Maserati aims to sell around 500 units annually in the coming years in India, Claverol emphasized that volume isn't the primary objective. Instead, India, with its appreciation for luxury products, presents a significant opportunity for the brand. Consequently, Maserati is expanding its sales network, adding new dealerships in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.
