In a statement, the NCW emphasized its commitment to collaborating with appropriate authorities to uphold women's rights and promote a safe and equitable working environment in the industry. The Justice Hema Committee was formed by the Kerala government following the assault of an actress in 2017 and has highlighted issues of workplace harassment and gender-based discrimination.
Amid rising allegations against various actors and directors, the state government announced a seven-member special investigation team on August 25 to look into the claims of sexual harassment and exploitation.
