The Tamil Nadu Cauvery Vivasayigal Sangam (TNCVS) is striving to build political consensus for a dam at Rasimanal, near the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border. The farmers' association has been meeting with leaders from various political parties to gain their support.
General Secretary P R Pandian announced that the Congress party, along with other regional parties like AIADMK and PMK, have pledged their backing for the project. The initiative aims to benefit farmers by preventing surplus Cauvery water from draining into the sea.
The proposal is part of a broader strategy that includes constructing barrages across the Kollidam river every 5 km. This measure is expected to manage water resources more effectively and support agricultural activities in the region.
