Nagaland Chief Minister Inspects Landslide-ravaged Chumoukedima District
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio visited landslide-affected areas in Chumoukedima district after six people died due to a massive mudslide caused by heavy rainfall. Rio emphasized expediting the restoration of normal conditions and chaired a high-level meeting. The state has also announced compensation for the victims' families.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio visited Chumoukedima district Thursday, where a massive landslide killed six people following torrential rain. Damages also resulted in disruptions along National Highway-29.
Rio emphasized swift restoration of regular vehicular movement, minimizing inconvenience to citizens. He chaired a high-level meeting to discuss necessary measures alongside Deputy Chief Minister T R Zeliang. The National Highway & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) has been tasked with making NH-29 operational within 24 hours.
The state announced ex-gratia payments of Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 5,400 to the injured requiring hospitalisation.
