Patna and Gaya Make Significant Strides in Clean Air Survey 2024
Patna has achieved the 14th position and Gaya the 8th in the Clean Air Survey Report 2024 in their respective population categories. Conducted by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the rankings reflect improvements in air quality due to effective actions taken by the cities.

Patna has climbed to the 14th spot in the 'Clean Air Survey Report 2024', surpassing its 29th position from last year in the category of cities with over 10 lakh residents.
Meanwhile, Gaya achieved 8th place, a significant leap from last year's 20th position in the category of cities with populations between 3 lakh and 10 lakh.
D K Shukla, Chairman of the Bihar State Pollution Control Board, attributed the improvement to coordinated efforts and action plans aimed at enhancing air quality. The survey, conducted by the Central Pollution Control Board, ranks 130 cities based on the actions taken to improve air quality under the National Clean Air Programme.
