Residents, grappling with the loss of a beloved neighbor, aired their grief and called for governmental support for Bhat's surviving family, which includes a young wife, five-year-old son Azaan, and an infant daughter. Bhat’s return home for a brief leave was meant to be a joyful reunion. Instead, it ended in sorrow as he was abducted on his way back to service.
