On Wednesday, an estimated 1.60 crore people engaged in the sacred ritual of taking a dip at the Sangam during the Maghi Purnima at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh, according to the state's government. The annual religious gathering saw extensive arrangements put in place to manage the massive influx of devotees.

Commencing early in the morning, the bathing ritual was keenly monitored by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from Lucknow. As the sacred month-long Kalpavas came to a close, approximately 10 lakh 'Kalpvasis' prepared to depart, urged by the administration to adhere to traffic regulations and utilize authorized parking.

The event notably included a participation by cricket icon Anil Kumble, who took part in the ritual dip without VIP protocols, signifying the spirit of equality among devotees. Enhanced security measures, part of 'Operation Chaturbhuj', included advanced surveillance technology and increased police deployment to ensure a seamless event.
