Reports indicate internal discord within the Kerala Film Producers' Association concerning a planned film strike on June 1. However, producer Listin Stephen has dismissed these claims, insisting the association had agreed on a collective decision that high-earning stars should see phased payments. Tax burdens were also a discussion point.

Senior producer Antony Perumbavoor criticized vice president G Suresh Kumar for unilaterally announcing the strike. Stephen clarified that decisions weren't made solo, emphasizing the need for collective conformity within the association, despite personal objections to the strike.

Stephen underlined that Perumbavoor did not attend the key meeting, suggesting that the issues could have been resolved privately, noting Perumbavoor's Facebook remarks that the strike is unlikely to benefit the industry due to its broad impact, supported by actor Mohanlal.
