The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has summoned popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia to appear on February 24 as part of an investigation after his controversial remarks on 'India's Got Latent' triggered public backlash. Comedian Samay Raina is also required to meet with the cyber cell tomorrow.
The remarks, perceived as offensive, have led to multiple FIRs against Allahbadia, Raina, and other show participants. The National Commission for Women (NCW) is also involved, having issued summons which have been delayed due to personal safety concerns and foreign travel commitments cited by those involved.
The Commission has rescheduled hearings for March 6 and March 11, accommodating requests from individuals such as Allahbadia, who cited receiving death threats. Others, like Jaspreet Singh and Ashish Chanchlani, have also been granted extensions. The NCW strongly criticized the actions of the content creators, alleging they violated dignity and respect.
