Along with Sydeek, a female acquaintance residing in Nagpur was also arrested, although details of the charges against her remain undisclosed. Sydeek's online posts, critical of Indian military operations, were cited as evidence of his alleged intentions.
Sydeek, affiliated with the Democratic Students Association, had traveled to Nagpur on his return trip from Delhi, where he participated in a press conference advocating for the release of jailed journalists. His journalistic works focus on social issues such as caste discrimination and state repression.
