Record-Breaking Romance: 'Saiyaara' Smashes Box Office with Rs 119 Crore Debut

The romantic drama 'Saiyaara', directed by Mohit Suri and starring newcomers Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has achieved unprecedented success at the box office. The film grossed Rs 119 crore worldwide within its first three days, setting a new record for romantic films, according to the producers.

'Saiyaara', which marks Pandey's first film appearance, has surpassed the lifetime collections of other prominent debut films, and in India alone, it earned a nett Rs 84 crore, with an additional Rs 17.25 crore from international markets.

Produced by Yash Raj Films, the release not only set the record for the highest weekend gross for a debutant-led film but also became Mohit Suri's most successful opening film ever. While comparable to blockbusters like 'Chhava' and 'Sikandar', Suri's 'Saiyaara' is the first romantic genre to break the Rs 100 crore mark so swiftly.
