Superstar Aamir Khan announced on Tuesday that his latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' will be available on YouTube Movies on demand following its theatrical release. Starting August 1, audiences in India can stream the movie for Rs 100, while viewers in 38 international markets, including the US, UK, and Australia, will have localized pricing. Directed by R S Prasanna, the film earned over Rs 250 crores, praised for its storytelling and performances.

Aamir Khan expressed his long-standing wish to reach audiences lacking geographical access to theaters. He hailed the convergence of UPI, increased internet penetration, and YouTube's prominence as transformative factors enabling wider access to cinema. This move aligns with his vision of affordable and accessible filmmaking.

'Sitaare Zameen Par,' a spiritual sequel to 'Taare Zameen Par,' follows Aamir as a basketball coach mentoring differently-abled individuals. The cast includes Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, and Genelia D'Souza. Gunjan Soni of YouTube India called the film's digital release a global milestone for Indian cinema distribution.
