The Dussehra festival, marking the triumph of good over evil, concluded the Navratri celebrations across India. Dussehra, the annual festival representing the victory of good over evil, was celebrated across India with fervor. However, festivities faced interruptions due to rain, as seen in Delhi where Prime Minister Modi could not attend an event. In West Bengal, rituals were uniquely affected by weather conditions.

The festivities were marred by tragedy in Madhya Pradesh, where two separate incidents during Durga idol immersions resulted in 11 casualties. Despite these unfortunate events, the celebrations continued, showcasing traditional effigy burnings and cultural expressions in various regions, including Mysuru and Jammu and Kashmir.

Political and military leaders used the occasion to draw parallels with India's efforts against terrorism. President Murmu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh both addressed public gatherings, calling for continued triumphs of good over evil, both culturally and on the battlefield.
