Judges in India face demanding work hours and significant stress, prompting Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant to advocate for recreational activities as a necessary escape. At the All India Judges Badminton Championship's opening ceremony, he emphasized participation in age-appropriate sports to recharge from their intense routines.
The CJI highlighted the importance of health and well-being, noting the large turnout of High Court judges at the championship. 'Engaging in recreational activities such as these promotes well-being and invigorates our esteemed judges,' expressed CJI Kant.
Distinguished attendees included Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju. The event, orchestrated by former national badminton player Abantika Deka, concludes with a prize distribution ceremony presided over by former CJI B R Gavai and Justice Vikram Nath.
