BJP's Annamalai Steps Back to Propel NDA Campaign

K Annamalai, the former BJP chief of Tamil Nadu, has decided to step aside from contesting in the upcoming April 23 Assembly election. Instead, Annamalai will focus his efforts on campaigning for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates, as reaffirmed in his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting, described as a 'casual conversation' by BJP leader Piyush Goyal, emphasized Annamalai's role as a dedicated party member committed to the NDA's victory across the state's 234 constituencies. Goyal downplayed media claims about alleged cancelled roadshows in Chennai, labeling such reports as unfounded and politically motivated.

Annamalai, who clarified that his decision to not run was voluntary, remains steadfast in his resolve to support NDA candidates, expressing gratitude to BJP leadership for respecting his choice. His campaign journey includes efforts in Puducherry, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, with a goal of bolstering NDA's success in the election.
