PMML Leverages Digitisation to Preserve 25 Million Rare Documents

The Prime Ministers' Museum and Library (PMML) is embarking on a comprehensive digitization project to safeguard its rare archival collection, according to a statement from the Culture Ministry on Saturday.
Housing over 25 million documents tied to more than 1,300 individuals and organizations, PMML is located at central Delhi's historic Teen Murti Bhavan. The digital effort will ensure the long-term preservation of fragile documents while enabling remote access for research scholars.
The digital archives initiative aligns with PMML's commitment to facilitating high-quality research on modern and contemporary Indian history, enhancing ease of access for scholars worldwide, as stated by Ashwani Lohani, the Director of PMML.
