The Delhi High Court has instructed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to carefully assess concerns raised by the parents of Major Mohit Sharma regarding the release of the movie 'Dhurandhar'.
Starring Ranveer Singh and slated for a December 5 release, the film allegedly draws substantial inspiration from Sharma's life, a decorated officer killed in action during a counter-terrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The court has underscored the need for the CBFC to consider these concerns alongside national security implications before issuing certification. Additionally, if deemed necessary, the CBFC may consult the Indian Army for approvals.
