On the anniversary of the Babri mosque demolition, the BJP marked the occasion as 'Shaurya Diwas' by posting a video showcasing highlights from the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. This day commemorates the sacrifices made for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Shared on multiple platforms, including X, the video and images reverberated with a tribute to the 'Sanatani heroes' who were instrumental in bringing a perceived end to 500 years of oppression. The act of raising the 'Dharma Dwaj', a saffron flag, atop the newly built Ram temple was prominently featured, underscoring the cultural significance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were part of the recent ceremony marking the temple's formal completion. Despite the event's contentious nature, with different religious communities observing the day differently, the 2019 Supreme Court verdict granted land for both a temple and a mosque, symbolizing an official closure to the dispute.
