Honoring Heroes: Vijay Diwas Celebrations at Assam War Memorial

On Tuesday, defence personnel and veterans gathered to pay tribute to the sacrifices of brave hearts on Vijay Diwas, celebrated at Assam State War Memorial by the Directorate of Sainik Welfare.
The commemorative event marked India's significant 1971 victory over Pakistan, paving the way for the creation of Bangladesh. Notable attendees included Lt Gen Pranab Kumar Bharali (retd), Maj Gen Purnananda Das (retd), Brig Abani Kumar Pait (retd), and others, who shared their memorable wartime experiences.
In addition, the event 'Amar Swaheed Shraddhanjali' honored the widows of fallen soldiers. Brig Ajit Kumar Bora, Group Commander of NCC group HQ Guwahati, was also present on this solemn occasion.
