The Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) has announced the third edition of its celebrated initiative, 'MAMI Select: Filmed on iPhone.' This endeavor aims to empower aspiring filmmakers by equipping them with crucial tools and guidance from renowned mentors.
This year's mentors include celebrated directors Sriram Raghavan, awaiting the release of 'Ikkis,' and Dibakar Banerjee, known for his work in 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' and 'Shanghai.' The program enlists award-winning filmmakers Geetu Mohandas and Chaitanya Tamhane to mentor participants from conceptualization through to final production using advanced technology.
The program invites applications until January 4, offering filmmakers a unique platform to showcase their talents. Successful short films will premiere at a special event and on MAMI's YouTube channel, promoting widespread accessibility. The initiative emphasizes storytelling, supporting regional films in Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, and Bengali for the first time.
