Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the under-construction Virat Ramayan Temple site in East Champaran district, overseeing the installation of a significant 33-foot-tall Shiva Lingam.
The CM, joined by Deputy Chief Ministers and other officials, inspected the ongoing construction as part of his Samridhi Yatra, a development tour in the district.
The impressive Shiva Lingam, weighing 210 metric tonnes, was crafted in Tamil Nadu and transported to Kalyanpur on a custom-engineered trailer, attracting a large number of devotees for the installation ceremony.
Sayan Kunal, of the Bihar State Religious Trust Council, emphasized the spiritual significance of the Lingam, made from a single rock and incorporating 1008 smaller Shiva Lingams.
The Virat Ramayan Temple, under the supervision of Patna's Mahavir Mandir Trust, aims for a 2030 completion, with plans for 18 towers and 22 deity temples within its 270-foot-high main structure.
Nitish Kumar also launched multiple development projects in the West Champaran district earlier in the day, as part of his district tour.
