Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan emphasized Gujarat's significant contributions to India's historical and political landscape on Tuesday, naming Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as towering figures originating from the state.
During his visit to the Harijan Sevak Sangh at the historic Gandhi Ashram, Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Mahadev Desai Library Extension, underscoring the mutual influence between individuals and society. He urged individuals to recognize their duty to contribute positively to society, framing service as both a moral responsibility and a path to national development.
Radhakrishnan toured the Kasturba Museum within the Ashram premises, deeply moved by the humble lifestyle of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi during their time in Delhi. This visit served as a poignant reminder of the simplicity and dedication of India's freedom movement leaders.
