Veteran actor Neena Gupta recently reflected on her early days in Mumbai, revealing the 'loneliness, fear, and uncertainty' she faced when she first arrived to pursue an acting career. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Gupta shared her journey, moving to the city with her then-boyfriend, accompanied by financial dilemmas and a lack of family support.

"I felt lonely. No mom, no dad, no money. I was staying at someone's place who didn't want me there," she said candidly. The actor explained that although she traveled with her boyfriend due to lacking the courage to come alone, he eventually left her. "A wise person once said, 'You don't die of old age. You die of loneliness.' That resonated with me here," Neena recalled.

During the conversation, Neena expressed regret over not having a mentor to navigate the complexities of the film industry, describing her early career decisions as misguided. Despite her struggles, Neena Gupta has emerged as a renowned figure in Bollywood, known for her acclaimed performances in films like 'Badhaai Ho' and the series 'Panchayat'. Her next film, 'Vadh 2', scheduled for release in February 2026, revisits the story of Manju and Shambhunath, as she reunites with Sanjay Mishra on screen.
