Delhi Metro's Bold Move: Combating Smog with Mist Sprays and Artistic Flair

The Delhi Metro has installed mist spray systems and anti-smog guns across 143 stations, a significant step in reducing air pollution. Alongside pollution control, urban beautification is enhanced with artwork on metro pillars, showcasing nature and cultural themes to elevate Delhi's visual landscape.

The Delhi Metro has successfully completed the installation of mist spray systems and anti-smog guns across all 143 elevated stations in the national capital. This initiative marks a significant step in the government's ongoing efforts to mitigate air pollution, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Wednesday.

According to official data, 131 mist spray systems and 12 anti-smog guns have been deployed throughout the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network. Specifically, 89 systems are installed at on-road locations, while 54 are at off-road elevated stations. This comprehensive coverage addresses technical limitations by using anti-smog guns where mist sprays couldn't be applied.

Gupta revealed that the installations were completed ahead of schedule, serving as practical measures to enhance air quality in crowded public spaces like metro stations. Additionally, urban beautification efforts featuring artworks based on themes of nature, birds, and cultural symbols have been executed on 50 metro pillars, contributing to an improved urban aesthetic.
